MARK A. DRESNICK

Mark A. Dresnick has extensive experience representing physicians, hospitals, and other health care providers. He represents health care providers in investigations and prosecutions brought by Florida’s Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) and Department of Health, and hospitals in matters involving medical staff credentialing, peer review, and governmental investigations.

Mr. Dresnick has lectured to numerous organizations on the defense of cases brought on behalf of the Board of Medicine and other professional boards by Florida’s Agency for Health Care Administration or Department of Health, on hospital peer review proceedings, and health care fraud and abuse. These lectures include continuing legal education presentations for members of The Florida Bar and lectures sponsored by medical staffs at hospitals, the University of Miami School of Medicine, and various professional organizations. Mr. Dresnick has been a member of The Florida Bar since 1977 and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court, Southern District of Florida. He was recognized by the Florida Supreme Court for outstanding achievement on the Florida Bar Examination. 

Mr. Dresnick is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the Florida Academy of health Care Attorneys, and a member of the Health Care Law and Administrative Law Sections of The Florida Bar. He was a founding member of the Professional Licensure Defense Lawyers Association. 

Mr. Dresnick's community activities include membership on the Dade Civil Rights Committee of the Anti-Defamation League, and he is a member of the Board of Directors of Shake-A-Leg Miami, Inc., a non-profit organization that provides recreational activities for persons suffering disabilities to improve their quality of life.  He was also a member of the Dade County Lawyers for the Arts from 1980 to 1985, and the Board of Directors of the Friends of Public Radio from 1980 to 1983.

Mr. Dresnick earned his J.D. degree, with honors, in 1977 from the University of Miami School of Law, and his B.A. degree in 1973 from Boston University.

MONICA L. FELDER-RODRIGUEZ

Monica Felder-Rodriguez has been Board Certified by The Florida Bar as a specialist in health law.  Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Felder-Rodriguez was a prosecutor for the Board of Medicine and AHCA. While with the Agency, she handled over 175 disciplinary cases involving physicians. She then was offered a position with the Florida Office of the Attorney General, advising the various professional health care licensing boards regarding the rules of administrative procedure and rule-making, handling legal issues involving licensing decisions and rule challenge procedures for the boards, and advising the boards regarding appropriate imposition of disciplinary actions against health care practitioners.

While at Dresnick & Rodriguez, Ms. Felder-Rodriguez has concentrated her practice on the representation of physicians, nurses, and other health care providers in licensing and disciplinary matters, and on the representation of hospitals in credentialing, peer review, and regulatory matters.

Ms. Felder-Rodriguez is a frequent speaker and author on a variety of health care topics, including actions by AHCA and the Department of Health, Practitioner Profiling, Hospital and Physician Office Incident Reporting, EMTALA, compliance with the Baker Act by psychiatric facilities, and Credentialing and Peer Review in Hospitals. She also writes a recurring column in the Florida Medical Business newspaper on the activities of the Board of Medicine, which is sent directly to all Florida licensed physicians. Ms. Felder-Rodriguez was elected to the Executive Council of the Health law Section of the Florida Bar, and is currently serving as co-chair of the Continuing Legal Education Committee of the Health Law Section of the Florida Bar.

In addition, Ms. Felder-Rodriguez has served as an Adjunct Professor at Nova University, teaching a course entitled “Health Care Law and Ethics” to students obtaining a Master’s degree or MBA in Health Care Administration.

Ms. Felder-Rodriguez has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1993 and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court in the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida. She is also a Board-certified health law attorney.

Ms. Felder-Rodriguez is a member of the Health Law and Administrative Law Sections of the Florida Bar. She is also a member of Coral Gables and Dade County Bar Associations, the Florida Academy of Healthcare Attorneys, the Florida Hospital Association, and the American Health Lawyers Association. 

Ms. Felder-Rodriguez is also listed in Who's Who in America, 56 Edition, 2002.

PAMELA I. PERRY
OF COUNSEL

Born in Coral Gables, Florida, Pamela I. Perry has represented hundreds of people being investigated or prosecuted by federal, state, and regulatory authorities.  She is also a respected certified mediator and has extensive experience defending professional malpractice and general commercial claims.  Ms. Perry clerked for the Honorable Daniel S. Pearson on Florida’s Third District Court of Appeal, and was a Shareholder in Kenny, Nachwalter, P.A., and Bierman, Shohat, Loewy, Perry, and Klein, P.A. 

Ms. Perry has been an “AV” rated lawyer since 1990 and received the G. Kirk Haas Humanitarian Award from the Florida Bar. She was the Chair, Vice-Chair, and member of the Judicial Nominating Commission for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit, a director of the Dade County Bar Association, and a member of the Executive Board of Miami-Dade County Community Relations Board. She is also a member of the Spellman-Hoeveler Inn of Court and the Regional Board of the Anti-Defamation League. 

Ms. Perry taught Federal Criminal Practice as an adjunct professor at the University of Miami School of Law for several years, and served as president, secretary and member of the Board of Directors of the Miami Chapter of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.  She is also a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the American Bar Association. 

Ms. Perry co-authored the Change of Venue Chapter in “Jury Work: Systematic Techniques,” by the National Jury Project, and “International Drug Cartels: Miami Vice or Government Spice,” for the American University Law Review.

Ms. Perry earned her B.A. from Brandeis University where she earned the Butman Award for Outstanding Scholarship and Leadership, and her J.D., cum Laude, from the University of Miami School of Law, where she received the American Jurisprudence Book Award in Labor Law and served as a member of the Moot Court Board and the Lawyer of the Americas Journal of International Law.  She is admitted to the Bar in Florida; the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida; the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit; and the U.S. Supreme Court.
